Dear Fellow Boaters,

Its fast approaching the cruising season and as club Commodore I need to bring you all up to date on
whats happening, and what is not happening! Firstly, to my disappointment the holiday cruise in July will
not be to the Lancaster, the dates for the crossing were released a few days ago by British Waterways and
have proved impossible for more than a handful of boats to make the crossing, instead we head for the
Roman city of Chester, Tudor buildings, lots of good pubs and shops and a pretty route as well, anyway
more about that in the coming weeks.
PRIORITY NUMBER ONE.......B.W have just opened bookings for trips into Liverpool, as you know we
are going there at the end of May for the spring bank holiday rally, only six can go each day so those
wanting to go will have to get a move on, sailings into Liverpool are on Sundays,Wednesdays and Fridays
and the return journeys on Mondays,Thursdays and Saturdays.
To apply for the form contact B.W. at Wigan on 01942 405700 or email them at
enquiries.northwest@britishwaterways.co.uk or email me on edwardbarford@yahoo.co.uk ,please let me
know if you are coming.
Finally, the first of this years cruises will be to Haskayne from the 2nd to the 5th of April, we intend
mooring at the newly re-furbished Scarisbrick Arms on the Friday where food will be available to
buy,Saturday and we will moor at Haskayne near the village hall which I have booked for the evening. A
hot supper will be provided for those who would like to join us,hot pot or thick vegetable soup and crusty
bread,Sunday will be a chill out day,we will bring the b.b.q, bring your own sausages,ect...
Let me know if your coming on
edwardbarford@yahoo.co.uk or phone, 07785724373,

Cheers,,,Eddie B
